For students who are unsure if entrepreneurship is for them, let me tell you something I shared on the recent #McDanYouthConnect series in Kumasi: take the leap right now. You’re young and have a safety net. You don’t have a house to pay off yet and have the freedom to experiment and learn from your mistakes. Student entrepreneurship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, build a network, and discover what you truly enjoy.
From my experience, I highly recommend the combination of studying and entrepreneurship. It teaches you so much more than what you can learn from books and prepares you for the real world after your studies. And who knows, you might discover a passion that you want to follow for the rest of your life.
So, to all students dreaming of starting their own business: go for it. It’s a journey that will bring you more than you could ever imagine. My own journey has been filled with ups and downs, but one thing remains true: You’ve got to be willing to take your shot. Surround yourself with the right people, stay persistent, and focus on the details. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with purpose, passion, and a commitment to excellence, you can achieve more than you ever imagined.
